This is an ORIGINAL, 1930's or WORLD WAR II era, WORLD WAR I type TANK ASHTRAY. There is a makers mark on the bottom of the ashtray, but it is not very readable due to the metal casting. Items like this were very popular PATRIOTIC items on the HOME FRONT during World War II, the idea, apparently, was that you would be forced to think about the boy next door sweating it out in a TANK in COMBAT in EUROPE or the PACIFIC every time that you lit up a LUCKY STRIKE or a CAMEL in the comfort of your own home or office. This item is in used condition. A neat item for the WWII HOME FRONT or VINTAGE MILITARY ASHTRAY collector. This would be great for a WWII era ZIPPO LIGHTER or cigarette display.
